I’ll start by saying, if you did not attend the reunion in Washington DC & Alexandria VA, you missed out on a great opportunity to meet with some wonderful folks and share some great times... Mack and Rebecca Gaither did a marvelous job as Host, I would like to personally and publicly “Thank Them” for all their time and effort invested to achieve this successful reunion. Our clan began to arrive early, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday at Embassy Suites on Diagonal Road in Alexandria.

How to Preserve Family Papers and Photos

The Society's Vice President, Catherine Allison, passed this valuable information along to us.  Many of us have family papers and photographs that we want to preserve, but may not have the resources or the knowledge.

On March 14, the National Archives, in Washington, DC, held its Preservation Expo, explaining how to preserve a whole range of media that document family history as well as our national history.  It is too late to attend, but we have provided you with a link to a summary of the information provided at the Expo. North Carolina Gaithers Gather

On the third Sunday in October, as in many years past, the Annual Gaither Reunion was held at Clarksbury United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Harmony, NC. This date was selected many years ago because Elizabeth Nichols Gaither (more affectionately called Lizzie), the Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother of most of the attendees was born on October 23rd and this occasion also served to celebrate her birthday.
